Elements and Performance Criteria

Elements

Performance Criteria

Elements describe the essential outcomes

Performance criteria describe the performance needed to demonstrate achievement of the element. Where bold italicised text is used, further information is detailed in the range of conditions section

1. Develop maintenance plans

1.1 Workplace procedures for maintaining plant, tools, equipment and systems are confirmed

1.2 Plant, tools, equipment or system to be maintained is identified

1.3 Instructions, plans and workplace checklists are identified

1.4 Preventative maintenance requirements are identified from manufacturer recommendations

1.5 Preventative maintenance work plan and schedules are prepared and submitted to appropriate personnel

2. Conduct maintenance

2.1 Preventative maintenance is conducted according to work plans and procedures and plant, tool, equipment or system is inspected for wear, defects and damage

2.2 Maintenance requirements are reported and recommendations made to appropriate personnel

2.3 Maintenance activities are conducted and results documented

3. Monitor performance post-maintenance

3.1 Critical performance measures and observations of plant, tool, equipment or system are obtained and recorded

3.2 Recorded performance measures and observations are compared against specifications and reported according to workplace procedures

4. Conduct adjustments and service

4.1 Checks and adjustments are made as required

4.2 Lubrication and regular servicing are carried out according to workplace procedures and manufacturer specifications

4.3 Adjustments and servicing procedures are documented

5. Document outcomes

5.1 Routine adjustments, and emergency and preventative maintenance activities are documented

5.2 Defective or malfunctioning plant, tools, equipment and system are reported according to workplace procedures
